Impact Insurance Forum 2017: Insurance for resilient value chains

November 7, 2017, 8:30-12:30
Lima, Peru

The ILO’s Impact Insurance Forum provides an interactive and open environment for discussing lessons learned and exchanging experiences on forefront issues confronting practitioners working in inclusive insurance. The Forum is a pre-conference session that is part of the 13th International Microinsurance Conference, which is hosted by APESEG, the Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network. Our Forum is open to all conference participants. Please register to the conference at:

This year’s Forum will focus on the topic "Insurance for resilient value chains”. Firstly, we will examine the risks faced by actors across value chains, caused by climate and other shocks. We will discuss how insurers can respond to those risks; and how they can achieve greater impact by linking insurance products with financing, climate adaptation and productivity interventions. Secondly, we will explore how insurers can leverage existing infrastructure within a value chain to distribute insurance products. The draft agenda for the Forum can be found here.
